Poppy Playtime 5 continues the story set inside the abandoned Playtime Co. toy factory. The player returns to the facility to investigate events connected to the disappearance of employees and the strange experiments conducted in the building. The factory remains partially functional, with large production halls, storage areas, and underground sections that were previously inaccessible. As the player explores deeper areas of the complex, new information about the company and its experiments begins to appear through recordings, documents, and environmental clues.
In Poppy Playtime 5 the player travels through parts of the factory that were hidden in earlier chapters. These locations include underground laboratories, mechanical corridors, and storage areas filled with unfinished toys. Many of these rooms show signs of research activity and emergency shutdown procedures that happened before the factory was abandoned.
Exploration requires moving carefully through dark hallways and damaged rooms. Some areas contain locked doors or inactive machines that must be activated before progress is possible. The player often needs to search for switches, power sources, or hidden passages to continue moving through the building.
The gameplay continues to combine environmental puzzles with exploration. The main tool used throughout the chapter is the GrabPack, a device that allows the player to interact with objects from a distance. The GrabPack can pull levers, connect electrical circuits, and move objects that block the path forward.
Common gameplay actions include:
These tasks help the player progress deeper into the complex.
As the player moves further through the building, encounters with dangerous toy creatures become more frequent. These characters move through corridors and react to the player’s presence. Some encounters require hiding or escaping, while others involve solving puzzles quickly in order to avoid being caught.
The environment itself also becomes more hazardous. Broken floors, unstable machinery, and narrow maintenance tunnels create additional obstacles during exploration.
