Project P.I.T.T. is a first-person sandbox and automation game where the player works inside an unusual industrial facility built around a large structure called the Maw. The pit consumes any objects placed into it, and the main responsibility of the player is to keep feeding it. At the beginning, the work appears simple. The player produces small items and throws them into the pit manually. However, the Maw quickly begins demanding more materials, which forces the player to expand production and develop more efficient systems.
The game begins with the player starting a new position as an intern in a concrete workshop filled with tools and machines. The workspace contains stations where objects can be produced and areas where items can be transported toward the pit. The Maw sits at the center of the facility and acts as the main destination for everything created in the workshop.
Early tasks involve producing simple objects and carrying them across the room to the pit. This process introduces the basic mechanics of movement, interaction, and physics. As the player continues working, additional tools become available to help manage larger quantities of materials.
As the Maw’s demand increases, manual work becomes inefficient. The player must begin building systems that automate the movement of objects. Machines can be placed around the workspace to push, launch, or transport items toward the pit.
Typical player actions include:
· producing items at workstations
· transporting objects toward the Maw
· placing machines that move materials automatically
· connecting multiple devices into production chains
· improving efficiency through automation
These actions gradually transform the simple workshop into a larger production system.
The Maw reacts to the number of objects it receives. After consuming enough materials, it requires even larger deliveries. This creates a constant need to increase production capacity. The player must design systems that move items quickly and reliably.
The pit also becomes a visual indicator of progress. As more items are delivered, its size and activity change, showing how much production has occurred. The facility itself begins to feel more industrial as additional machines are placed throughout the workspace.
Project P.I.T.T. emphasizes experimentation with physics and machinery. Because every object in the environment can be moved or combined with others, players can build many different systems to solve the same problem. Some setups rely on simple conveyors, while others use chains of devices that launch items across the room.
As production increases, the player gains access to more advanced equipment that allows larger automated systems. The gameplay evolves from manual item delivery to complex mechanical setups that operate continuously. Project P.I.T.T. focuses on building, testing, and improving systems while the player attempts to satisfy the growing demand of the Maw.
