Finding Frankie puts players in the center of a dangerous obstacle course masked as a cheerful parkour competition. The game begins innocently enough, with the player character discovering a mysterious invitation hidden in a breakfast cereal box. What seems like a fun challenge soon reveals a darker reality. You arrive at a massive indoor arena called Frankie’s Palace, alongside two other contestants. As the game progresses, the cheerful aesthetics begin to fracture, revealing the disturbing truths behind the show’s hosts and its purpose.
At its core, the game is built around high-stakes parkour mechanics. Players must complete a variety of movement-based challenges while also avoiding threats from seemingly animated characters with unexpected intentions. The hosts, including Frankie and Henry Hotline, appear throughout the levels, creating unpredictable dangers that interrupt the standard flow of a race. Their behavior is erratic and menacing, turning an obstacle course into something closer to a trap.
Throughout the game, players must engage with a variety of movement mechanics and survival strategies. These include:
· Wall running and rebound jumps
· Swinging from bars and ropes
· Sliding under obstacles and across rails
· Using trampolines for vertical movement
· Navigating through dark maintenance corridors and vents
· Solving movement-based puzzles to unlock new paths
These features are introduced gradually, with later stages testing your mastery of all of them at once, while unpredictable hazards push your reflexes and memory.
Outside of the active runs, players are accompanied by a character known as the Duck Assistant. This companion provides light and information in the quieter sections of the game, but also serves another function — to distract and calm the player between high-intensity moments. Its presence is both comforting and suspicious, as it sometimes hints at knowledge about the game’s true nature. As the parkour show deteriorates into psychological horror, the Duck’s dialogue becomes more ambiguous, leaving players to wonder whose side it’s really on.
As the levels grow more surreal and dangerous, the layout of Frankie’s Palace begins to reflect the chaotic intent behind its creation. What once looked like a bright competition zone now hides narrow, shifting passages, distorted corridors, and decaying structures. Players are encouraged to explore between challenges to uncover audio logs and fragments of information about the origins of the show. Finding Frankie ultimately becomes less about winning and more about figuring out what you’re truly a part of — and whether there’s a way out at all.
